This year, we are once again foregoing Christmas gifts and donating to two important organizations instead.
A safe haven for children and young people in need
The Schlupfwinkel und Sorgentelefon Gera e. V. association was founded in 1990 as a child protection association. Flexible educational assistance provides young people and children in need with safe, reliable support.
The most important services include the child protection apartment with a helpline and another child protection apartment for infants and toddlers, which is available around the clock. It offers children in acute danger situations a safe refuge. In addition, there is a child and youth protection service, educational assistance, social group work, a social training course, and a family-oriented center. School social work rounds off the services by supporting educational pathways and addressing social challenges at an early stage.
Another focus is on prevention programs that help reduce violence against children and young people. The association promotes cooperation with public and independent youth welfare organizations as well as local institutions, facilities, and associations that pursue similar goals. The association is neither religious nor politically affiliated.
GUS LAB GmbH is pleased to honor the important work of Schlupfwinkel with a donation. Collaboration with organizations such as this demonstrates how local engagement can have a lasting positive impact on people's lives.
Please take a look at the association's website. Perhaps you will feel motivated to help with a donation!
Life motto: Save lives
Water safety is the top priority when it comes to the activities of the German Life Saving Association (DLRG) Cologne-Mitte local group. In addition to preventing drowning, the association's members also work to educate people about safe behavior around water. This includes providing early and ongoing information about dangers in and around water and about safety-conscious behavior, training in swimming and self-rescue, lifesaving swimming, and further training for lifeguards for training and deployment.
In addition, the local group organizes a comprehensive water rescue service as part of the general hazard prevention measures of the federal government, states, and municipalities. Another focus is on youth work and promoting young talent. The volunteers' tasks also include training and further education in first aid and medical services, supporting leisure activities on and around the water, and conducting rescue sports exercises and competitions. The integration and promotion of people with disabilities is also a focus, as is close cooperation with domestic and foreign authorities and organizations.
We are delighted to support the valuable work of DLRG Köln-Mitte e.V.
