There are legal requirements that necessitate regular testing of drinking water. The data collected by the laboratories must be forwarded to the responsible health authorities and, if necessary, to federal authorities. This data exchange process varies greatly depending on the federal state, health authority or laboratory. This also makes the exchange potentially error-prone, as many different data formats have to be translated or, in some cases, adapted at great expense. In addition, adapting a large number of interfaces to new requirements and developments is a major burden for everyone involved.
For this reason, SHAPTH (interface harmonization and exchange platform for drinking water hygiene) was developed to create a uniform nationwide standard. This means that the methods and codes used can be used uniformly. The joint platform is intended to harmonize the data exchange formats used in Germany for (drinking) water analysis and the associated data and catalogs.
SHAPTH interface - Structure
SHAPTH is divided into a common data exchange platform and the associated data standard (XWater). XWasser includes the structure of the test reports and coding lists and is kept up to date. SHAPTH as a platform provides the communication channels (REST-API and GraphQL) and interfaces and at the same time enables authentication.
How can we help you?
The standardized data exchange platform is intended to be used by all stakeholders in the fields of testing, water supply, monitoring and reporting on drinking water. Our SHAPTH extension (including for LABbase) enables you to maintain your master data relating to the code lists used by SHAPTH as well as to generate test reports and send them to the SHAPTH portal.
